A Day in Slo-mo in Gopeshwar, Uttarakhand

Not all travel stories leave you awed, some just tell things as they are, simple, regular, normal stuff. Like this one here, that’s from the time I was in Gopeshwar. It’s a sleepy little place near Chamoli in Uttarakhand. Not much to do here except for observing life as if in a slo-mo, days beginning with spectacular sunrise and ending with colourful sunsets over the tall mountains.

Nachiketa Tal: Hiking To The Hidden Lake

At the crack of dawn, I boarded a bus headed towards Lambgaon and got down at Chaurangikhal. The place is a pitstop for buses heading further into the mountains towards the far off Himalayan villages. It is also known for the Chauranginath temple. As I devoured Maggie and chai, I was in two minds whether to hike on my own or take help of a local guide.

I love walking. And so on most travels I prefer to walk and explore the place leisurely. I’m missing traveling and walking around only because I don’t know (at this point) when can I travel again. With all the scary and tragic news around coronavirus and covid-19, I really hope people are not traveling and staying safe wherever they are. And I sincerely hope and pray that we all are past this scary situation very soon🤞
