This tranquil road in North Sikkim leads to Gurudongmar Lake – one of the highest lakes in the world. Sikkim is very special to me for one too many reasons.

A drive on this road is one of the best memory from Sikkim that is etched on my heart. A quiet drive on a road less frequented, in the middle of nowhere. Dusty brown mountains, fluffy clouds, cool mountain wind for company. Quiet moments with some kind of inexplicable peace and happy feeling. And until I reached the lake (which was really far away) it was like a never-ending road with no destination at the end of it, but yet so beautiful. And although I have managed to express a part of what it felt like, that’s not even close to what I really felt. But well, I hope you know what I mean 🙂
