After an almost incessant snowfall the previous night, we woke up to a beautiful clear day. And there it was, the stunning mount Shivling standing tall in its full glory! It was completely obscured the previous day when we had set up the camp even as it snowed continuously, it was hard to even imagine something this grand stood right there and we couldn’t see it!

A Day in Slo-mo in Gopeshwar, Uttarakhand

Not all travel stories leave you awed, some just tell things as they are, simple, regular, normal stuff. Like this one here, that’s from the time I was in Gopeshwar. It’s a sleepy little place near Chamoli in Uttarakhand. Not much to do here except for observing life as if in a slo-mo, days beginning with spectacular sunrise and ending with colourful sunsets over the tall mountains.

Nachiketa Tal: Hiking To The Hidden Lake

At the crack of dawn, I boarded a bus headed towards Lambgaon and got down at Chaurangikhal. These are the names of some unpopular places in Uttarakhand – one of the beautiful northern states of India, nestled in the laps of the majestic Himalayas. I had started the bus journey from Uttarkashi – a major town in Uttarakhand, which is well known for its proximity with many important religious destinations and as a gateway to several extreme and adventurous spots.
